II Elsa Morales National Art Salon rescheduled to 2027

The National Museums Foundation (FMN) announced the official rescheduling of the II Elsa Morales National Art Salon for 2027, a measure adopted to protect cultural heritage and ensure safe facilities after the earthquakes that occurred in the country on June 24.

The institution explained that the decision responds to the need to complete the technical rehabilitation work in the exhibition rooms classified with a yellow label. This setting seeks to provide optimal spaces for both creators and the visiting public.

According to the original schedule, proposals were scheduled to be received from April 6 to June 12, 2026, while the central activity would take place between July and November in the city of Caracas.

Regarding the reception of the works, it was indicated that the deadline for submitting artistic proposals is formally extended to December of this year. This additional margin will allow artists with ongoing creative processes to complete their pieces.

Regarding the inauguration of the Salon, the foundation stated that the opening and development of the program will take place in the course of 2027.

The FMN stressed that these actions seek to ensure broad, inclusive and safe participation in this plastic arts event. In addition, he expressed his gratitude to the artistic community for the understanding and solidarity shown in the face of this contingency, while confirming his commitment to the protection and promotion of the country's cultural sector.
