The General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) declared August 12, 2000 as International Youth Day.

The purpose of this date is to address the problems of young people at a global level, through organizations and campaigns that make it possible to establish paths in the areas of health, education and employment.

With the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, Commander Hugo Chávez created social, educational and sports policies for the development of the Youth of the Homeland.

Currently, with the Great Youth Chamba Mission, promoted by President Nicolás Maduro, it guarantees employment to young people for their economic and professional development.
