Venezuelan swimming sealed an impeccable day at the XVIII Santa Fe 2026 South American Games, after winning two gold medals in the 50-meter butterfly speed events, both in the men's and women's categories, as well as the achievement of a gold medal in women's weightlifting.

In that sense, Jorge Otaiza, with his total mastery of the water, demonstrated the fruit of so much work and discipline to win the gold medal in the men's 50-meter Butterfly swimming with a time of 23.60.

In weightlifting, the athlete Katherine Echandía shone when she became champion and won the gold medal in the 53 kg category and today she demonstrated it again on the stage with a monumental performance.
