Jorge Rodríguez: 91% of patients affected by the double earthquake have been discharged

The president of the General Staff for the Creation of Transitional Camps, Jorge Rodríguez, reported that 91% of patients admitted, after the double earthquake, to national health centers have already been discharged.

He noted that this group is out of danger and that the hospital system keeps track of cases that remain under observation.

Rodríguez indicated that 2,422 international rescuers are still deployed in search and rescue efforts, along with 31,837 national personnel, made up of brigades from all states, civil protection teams, Bolivarian National Police and units of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

He recalled that the FANB militarized the state of La Guaira during the early morning of June 24, making it possible to order the rescue process in a context of high operational pressure.

The President of the General Staff also highlighted the incorporation of 30,197 volunteers, enrolled in the Polyhedron and at different points authorized for logistics, medical care, transporting people, transporting materials and distributing food. Each volunteer received a written certificate of recognition from the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez.

Jorge Rodríguez stated that the intention is to integrate these teams into the next phases of the reconstruction process, aimed at addressing the structural effects generated by the earthquakes of July 24.
