The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, reported this Tuesday that the death toll from the recent earthquakes recorded in Venezuela rose to 1943 people.

“To date, 1,943 people have died. We have a number of injured people that reach 10,571, 15,866 people have been injured,” Rodríguez explained during the daily report on the tragedy.

He noted that 14 shelters are already enabled in the state of La Guaira, which was the most affected, and 55 shelters were established between Caracas, Miranda and the other affected states.

“They are conditioning themselves in the best possible way, given the race against time, but we are going to spare no effort in providing the best conditions to serve people who have to be taken to temporary camps,” he said.
