The
president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, announced this Wednesday that
temporary housing will be provided to health workers,
firefighters, police officers and members of the
Bolivarian National Armed Forces whose homes were affected or had to be evicted
after the earthquakes recorded last June 24.
In this regard, he called on doctors, nurses, nurses, bioanalysts, stretcher
bearers and other health professionals, as well as firefighters,
police and military personnel, to register with the Patria System to expedite the treatment of their housing cases.
“
What we are going to do immediately, as soon as you sign up, is to take you
to hotels in the capital city so that they can have a place to stay overnight,
until we finally resolve the issue of housing,” he explained.
He stressed that the measure seeks to
guarantee safe conditions for those who, in addition to facing the
consequences of the natural disaster, remain deployed in
emergency care and providing service to the affected population.
