Jorge Rodríguez in the face of hoaxes in the midst of a seismic emergency: A lie can cost lives

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, rejected this Wednesday the hoaxes that continue to spread unscrupulous people who try to politicize the national emergency due to the devastating earthquakes that occurred in the country on June 24.

“This is no time for politics, this is no time for polarization and this is no time for lies. A lie can cost human lives”, stressed the head of Parliament when he gave the daily report on the tragedy, which has left more than 2,290 deaths.

He recalled that the false alarm about an alleged tsunami after the earthquakes “delayed the process of rescuing people on June 25. Every time they say something that does nothing more than sow anxiety, that sows anguish, the harm to people who are naturally psychologically affected by a catastrophe of such dimensions increases,” he criticized.
