The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, reported that the aftershocks, as well as their magnitude of intensity, have decreased, but he also warned the population that they must remain alert.

“So far we can count 782 aftershocks, since last Wednesday, June 24 at 6:02 in the afternoon, (...) we must inform them that today this process continues and today we have a lower frequency of aftershocks and the magnitude range has also decreased,” he said.

He also indicated that this does not mean that the threat of a major aftershock has completely disappeared, “but this is good news since that trend continues.”

He reaffirmed the good thing about this news, since the natural course seems to indicate that the appearance of aftershocks will be more spaced out and their magnitude will gradually decrease. “The threat seems to be diminishing, but it hasn't disappeared yet,” he said.
