Jorge Rodríguez: We reached 6,461 people rescued after earthquakes

The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, reported that, as of Wednesday afternoon, the number of people rescued by national and international troops amounted to 6,461.

“In addition to the rescue of a girl, we have reached 6,461 people who have been rescued by more than 4,000 international troops and brigade members,” he said and confirmed that today rescue work continues at disaster sites.

He reaffirmed that more than 26,000 officials of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Bolivarian National Police, firefighters, rescuers and 17,000 volunteers are still deployed.

“Hope remains intact and we will insist on continuing to search for people who are alive in the rubble,” he said and reiterated that officials remain in the logistics areas of rescue, care for people and care for camps.
