Keydomar Vallenilla won gold at the Santa Fe South American Games

The Olympic runner-up in Tokyo 2020 and world medalist Keydomar Vallenilla won a new title in weightlifting at the South American Games in Santa Fe, Argentina, after leading the 95-kilogram classification with an Olympic total of 383 kilograms.

The weightlifter from the capital not only ratified his dominance, but he also won his second championship in the South American Games in a row after the gold he won in the previous Asunción 2022.

Vallenilla imposed his conditions on Argentine soil from the first ascent with a display of impeccable technique and sealing power with a better starting record of 169 kilos, a weight that marked a distance of two kilograms against Ecuadorian rival Juan Guadamud who was left with 167 followed by Colombian Marcos Bonilla with 160.

Later, in the envión modality, the Venezuelan weightlifter left the rest of the contenders without a choice when he completed a series of two effective attempts in 203 and 214 that raised Gloria's scores to Bravo Pueblo for another time in gymnasium 5 of the Provincial Club of Rosario.

In second place in the competition, the Colombian Marcos Bonilla finished with 361 kilos accumulated and in third place the Ecuadorian Juan Guadamud with 360.
