The Venezuelan bochophile Laura Oses won the gold medal in women's individual volleyball on the bocce courts of the Belgrano station, in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina, at the 2026 South American Games.
Oses played the national anthem in Santa Fe after beating Uruguayan Karen Sanguinet 10-7 in the grand final and winning the 13th gold medal for Venezuela.
The Venezuelan in the semifinal round dominated Chile's Sabrina Polito 9-3.
“This result is exciting for me, because it's the first time I'm playing this game. After a difficult game against a local player and then coming to get the pass to whatever it takes. I felt a lot of nerves, but the coaching staff was very supportive, they told me to focus on the game and it was given to me,” said Oses.
She also thanked God, the technical director and all those who supported her.
