Maiquetía Airport resumed international air cargo operations with a flight from Panama

The Simón Bolívar de Maiquetía International Airport resumed air cargo operations, as part of the plan for the progressive restoration of airport services, which were interrupted due to structural damage to the facilities caused by the double earthquake of last June 24.

The restart took place with the arrival of the Boeing 737-300F aircraft of the Uniworld airline, corresponding to flight 700/702 coming from Panama City with a load of 13,935 tons, and its subsequent return to the country of the isthmus with 5,060 tons from Venezuela.

This first cargo flight is part of the actions promoted by the Venezuelan State, in the efforts to restart and strengthen Venezuela's national and international logistics system, optimizing the flow of goods and supplies under high standards of safety, efficiency and operational reliability.

The Maiquetía International Airport Institute (IAIM) reaffirms its commitment to the country's economic development, ensuring the continuity of commercial connectivity processes and consolidating the modernization of the Venezuelan aeronautical sector, towards the rebirth of the country's main air terminal.
