On January 25, 1890, the distinguished painter Manuel Cabré was born in Barcelona, Spain, who dedicated all his genius to drawing with beautiful lines the majesty of Caracas with red roofs and the beauty of the imposing Waraira Repano .

‎Desde very young, Cabré was transferred to Venezuela, as a result of the invitation extended to his father by the then president Joaquín Crespo to participate in the construction of public works in the country.

‎A at 14 years of age, he joined the Academy of Fine Arts in Caracas, where his father held the chair of Sculpture.

‎En 1912, together with Leoncio Martínez, Rafael Agüín, Cruz Alvárez García, Julián Alonzo, Antonio Edmundo Monsanto and other artists, founded the Circle of Fine Arts. After several successful exhibitions in Caracas, he moved to Paris, where he lived until 1930, when he explored new trends in art such as Cubism and Impressionism.

‎En 1931 returned to Venezuela and dedicated himself with ardour to capturing the nature of the country until the day of his physical departure, which took place on February 26, 1984.

‎Sus paintings today are the most beautiful expression of Caracas that refused to be buried by the modernism that imposed itself with the force of progress in the great metropolises.
