Minister Cabello: First building demolition is part of the emergency care process in La Guaira

The sector vice-president for Policy, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, stressed that during the first controlled demolition of structures and buildings at risk, in the state of La Guaira, the result was as expected and everything worked as estimated for this type of operation.

“We are in the first demolition, here in the state of La Guaira, planned, reviewed and carried out by officials of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, our own officials, experts in explosives, and this has been the expected result,” he stressed.

He also specified that all technical tests were carried out on the building, it was evacuated and it fell as planned to collapse according to the explosive charge, to make way for cooling and searching, with dogs, for the rest of the detonating material used.

“In this phase, the process of searching for the bodies that are there resumes, this work was done together with the relatives and mourners who were victims of the earthquake, in which the process of searching for bodies in the remains of the building was carried out,” he said.

Finally, he prioritized the recovery of bodies inside the demolished buildings so that their families can bury or cremate the victims of the earthquakes of June 24.
