Minister Pérez Pirela: Venezuela will face recovery with unity and historical awareness

This Wednesday, July 15, the Minister of Popular Power for Communication and Information, Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela, said that Venezuela will face recovery after the earthquakes of last June 24 based on unity, solidarity and historical awareness.

“This double earthquake, without a doubt, has also shaken the tectonic plates of the spirit of Venezuelans, of our identity, of who we are, of our values. The answer lies precisely in history; history as the engine of peoples' wisdom, history as an answer to contemporary everyday unknowns,” he said, during his participation in the United with Ties forum, held within the framework of the Bicentennial of the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress.

In addition, the head of the Communication portfolio pointed out that the response of the Venezuelan people and institutions to the emergency reflects the values of integration and cooperation promoted by the Liberator Simon Bolivar.

Pérez Pirela argued that history constitutes a tool to face current challenges and reiterated that the country will overcome the emergency “with the most effective, highest and most profound instrument that exists, which is history”, referring to the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress.

In the same way, he announced that the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, will present in the next few hours a special reading plan aimed at the temporary camps, focused on the life and thought of Simón Bolívar and on national history.

In addition, he reported that the Virtual Library of the Bicentennial of the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress will also be presented, an initiative developed jointly by the Ministries of Culture, Education, Science and Technology, the Foreign Ministry and the Simon Bolivar Study Center, which will bring together 18 titles on the Bolivarian integrationist project and Latin American history.
