The Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism issued an official statement in which it reaffirmed its position of zero tolerance for illegal discharges and environmental crimes in the national territory. In its role as the governing body of environmental management, the institution categorically emphasized that the nation's coasts and bodies of water are not waste reservoirs, urging the population to rigorously respect maritime and river ecosystems.
The agency warned that dumping solid waste, liquid or any polluting substance into the sea or into natural areas constitutes a strictly illegal activity. Those who engage in these practices will face sanctions that range from financial fines to criminal prosecution, in addition to the legal obligation to fully restore the affected areas.
In this regard, the authorities recalled that it is mandatory to use only authorized spaces and controlled landfills that have been arranged for the correct disposal of waste.
The Ministry reiterated that environmental protection represents a collective task involving all of society, ratifying the commitment of the National Government to responsible management and joint action to ensure a sustainable future for present and future generations.
To facilitate the social comptroller's office and process immediate complaints, the ministerial body recalled that the telephone numbers 0212-408-1111 and 0800-262-4368 (0800-AMBIENT), the official web platforms and the social media account @mineocosocialismo_ve are active.
