Ministry of Ecosocialism evaluates actions to install recycling plant in Tumremo

The authorities of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MPPE) carried out a technical inspection of the Tumremo landfill, located in Guiana Esequiba, in order to diagnose the current state of the spaces and plan comprehensive actions for the collection, sanitation and use of solid waste in the area.

The supervision was carried out by the Deputy Minister for Integral Waste Management, Mailing Perdomo, and the Deputy Minister of Environmental Management Services, Carola Herrera, who supervised the area and verified the presence of an infrastructure suitable for the prompt installation of a recycling plant, oriented to the circular economy and the classification of materials, creating direct employment for the communities that work in the area.

In addition, important recommendations were given for the proper management of solid waste, with an emphasis on pathological waste protocols, the Ministry said on its website.

In the area, more than 2,746 tons of waste and solid waste are generated, so the sanitation of surrounding areas was ordered due to the accumulation of waste scattered on the roads.

The Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism is the godfather of Guiana Essequiba and the visit of its authorities coincided to also review other proposals made by the population and which were taken to the second National Popular Consultation 202 6, which took place last Sunday, October 18 in Venezuela.
