The Ministry of Health, through a statement, confirmed this Tuesday the death of three patients with a confirmed diagnosis of Hantavirus.

“This virus is transmitted by rodents in rural and agricultural areas, mainly when they inhale particles of urine, faeces or saliva in closed spaces. There is no scientific evidence of person-to-person transmission in our country,” the text states.

In addition, in the above-mentioned message, the ministerial portfolio regretted the death of two medical professionals in Barinas, whose causes of death are yet to be confirmed. In this regard, he stressed that these events are focused and do not represent any risk to the community.

In addition, the above-mentioned text indicates that both events are not related to each other and any connection between the recorded situations is ruled out.

“The National Public Health System remains deployed and operational to guarantee the health security of all Venezuelans. The final results of the investigation will be announced in due course through official channels,” he says.
