More than 15,000 volunteers are deployed in disaster areas alongside international security forces and rescuers

The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, offered a new assessment this Tuesday on the earthquakes that hit the country on June 24; in this regard, he highlighted the massive deployment of civil brigades and the spirit of solidarity evidenced in disaster zones.

Rodríguez reported in detail about the extent of the record of popular support, specifying that “fifteen thousand four hundred and sixty-seven people have registered as volunteers and volunteers in rescue work, logistics, distribution of food, medical care, security and damage assessment.”

He also explained the operational coordination of this contingent with State institutions, assuring that the brigade members “are currently deployed in disaster areas and are volunteers with our Venezuelan rescuers, personnel from the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, the Bolivarian National Police, the firefighters of La Guaira and firefighters from all over the country.”

The president of the AN concluded by praising the ethical and human commitment of national brigades and international rescuers, defining rescue work on the ground as a “process that is so painful but at the same time they are full of hope to rescue a life”.
