More than 40 tons of humanitarian aid arrive in La Guaira from the United States

On two flights from Miami, United States (USA), more than 40 tons of humanitarian aid arrived this Tuesday at “Simon Bolivar” International Airport in La Guaira, to meet the needs of the people most affected by the double earthquake of last June 24.

The first plane landed 36.80 tons of non-perishable food and other supplies, distributed in 57 pieces.

Meanwhile, the four tons carried in the second aircraft correspond to 200 boxes of personal hygiene products, 132 boxes of non-perishable food, 36 boxes of first aid supplies, 48 boxes of disposable medical supplies and 76 boxes of medicines.

According to the official balance sheet of July 13, in the context of the national emergency triggered by the double earthquake, the Bolivarian Government has served 128,324 families, 107 temporary camps have been set up, housing 20,231 people and 10,063 tons of food have been distributed.
