Mukumbarí Cable Car System reopens its doors this Wednesday, August 19

This Wednesday, August 19, the Mukumbarí Cable Car System will reactivate its services to the public and will operate every day during the closing of the holiday season, as reported by the Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Daniella Cabello, through her social networks.

The opening, originally scheduled for early August, experienced an adjustment following the double earthquake that occurred on June 24, which delayed the arrival of essential equipment to complete the maintenance phase.

Cabello stressed that the priority of the technical team has been to guarantee the safety and integrity of users, as well as to ensure the operation of the system at full capacity.

Among the improvements implemented are:

Installation of three reconnectors at the Barinitas station, which allow service to be restored immediately in the event of any electrical fluctuation.

State-of-the-art frequency converters, responsible for the control of motors at start, acceleration, speed and stop.

Complete refurbishment of the grounding network.

New complementary electrical protections to protect the cable car infrastructure.

Finally, Cabello recognized the joint work of the Venezuelan Cable Car Workforce (VENTEL), the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC), the Merida workforce and the support of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, to consolidate the reopening of this important tourist attraction.
