New group of Venezuelan athletes returns to the country after outstanding performance at the Central American Games

Another group of Venezuelan athletes, who participated in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo 2026, Dominican Republic, arrived this Monday at Arturo Michelena International Airport, in Valencia, Carabobo state.
These are 44 athletes from the disciplines of men's softball, modern pentathlon and karate, who were welcomed by family, friends and representatives of the national sport after an outstanding harvest of medals.
The Venezuelan delegation closed its participation with 49 gold medals, 70 silver and 97 bronze medals, for a total of 216 medals, a result that allowed the country to rank fourth in the overall medal table.
In karate, the Venezuelan representatives provided two gold medals through Yorgelis Salazar and Oriana Rodríguez, who demonstrated their competitive quality on the tatami.
