Official report after double earthquake (July 17, 2026): 6,462 people rescued to date

The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, updated the balance left by the double earthquake of last June 24 that affected the country.

In a report published on his digital channels, Rodríguez explained that the death toll in the nation stands at 5,069, while the authorities count 16,740 injured citizens. It also announced that 6,462 people have been rescued.

In this regard, Rodríguez stressed that the authorities have treated 128,234 people affected by the geological phenomenon. The report adds that there are 107 temporary camps deployed to care for 21,235 people. In addition, 17,907 people lost their homes in 856 affected buildings and 190 completely collapsed.

10,063 tons of food have been distributed and 36,951 patients treated. There are 2,278 international rescuers and 30,989 deployed Creole officials, in addition to 31,745 volunteers. 29,565,652 liters of water have been distributed and 13331 replicates have been counted.
