The president of the General Staff for the Creation of Transitional Camps, Jorge Rodríguez, published the updated balance sheet of the reconstruction phase due to this Monday, August 17, in which 6,438 people died after the earthquakes that occurred in the country, as well as 6,462 rescues.

The figures published on their official channels are part of the weekly record on the effects of the contingency and the progress of operations in the national territory.

The also president of the National Assembly (AN), specified that in the housing sector, inspection teams have evaluated a total of 59,109 homes in the affected areas.

Based on technical diagnoses, they determined that 34,680 properties are in habitable condition, 13,733 remain with restricted use and 10,696 are at high risk. The report states that to date 335 homes have been delivered to affected families.

It also points out that cleaning work on public roads accumulates 528,222.30 tons of debris collected in the different municipalities. This figure represents 25.15% of the total estimated material for removal in the current phase of reconstruction.

In the health area, the public system has 86,358 people treated in the network of hospitals and health centers. The registry includes patients who received first aid, surgery and outpatient treatment since the start of the contingency.
