On August 29 and 30, across the country, a new day of enlistment will be held for the People to join the Bolivarian National Militia and actively participate in the comprehensive defense of our country, said the Minister of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López.

During a press conference held this Wednesday, the senior military official explained that this day, instructed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, will take place in more than 1 thousand points located in the 335 municipalities of the national territory. He pointed out that among the authorized spaces there will be Plazas Bolívar and some emblematic military barracks.

In this regard, he reiterated the call to all the Venezuelan people to join this day and, after joining the militia, to remain deployed in the streets with slogans and cultural displays to say: “No to imperialism, no to lies, no to manipulation, no to military aggression, no to interventionism.”

“This isn't about a political party, this transcends partisan politics. We are placing our Homeland at the center, the one that gives us the oxygen to breathe every day, that gives us the earth to produce it, the one that gives us the work,” he emphasized.

In the same way, the also sectoral vice-president of Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, called on the country's main industries to reactivate the bodies of fighters, so that they can join the protection of our sovereignty and national production.

“We have to awaken the strength of the bodies of fighters, who are one of the arms, of the formations of the Bolivarian Militia that have no other purpose than to guarantee the continuity of national production in the main companies, necessary in times of peace and times of national defense,” he stressed.

Padrino López also congratulated the massive participation of the people in the enlistment day that took place last weekend. “It was a wonderful, extraordinary day. There, the counterrevolutionary media tried to show the opposite, always creating lies and manipulations. It's something absurd,” he stressed.

“Extremist opposition factors that receive support from imperialism began to say that last weekend there was no one on the streets. Lies are fought with the truth, with our truth”, he emphasized

On the other hand, he warned about the attempts of imperialism, with its media and social networks, to make people believe that Venezuela is a “narco-state”.
