Padrino López on U.S. recognition of its intentions to steal our natural resources: It's a great victory in the face of truth

With the recognition by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, of his intentions to steal our country's natural resources, through military siege, Venezuela has scored a great victory in showing the truth to the world, said Defense Minister, G/J Vladimir Padrino López.

“Yesterday we heard some delusional statements from the President of the United States in which he indicated that an alleged naval blockade was being imposed on Caribbean waters, with an unprecedented deployment of the U.S. Navy. Trump has said that we have stolen the oil that underlies here, but they claim that it belongs to them. Today we could say that Venezuela has scored a victory in the face of truth, these attacks are for our natural resources, not because of drug trafficking or because of the implausible narrative they have tried to impose. The truth has come out,” Padrino said in statements made this Wednesday.

In this regard, he assured that with this action, the United States is demonstrating great desperation, in terms of managing its foreign policy with Venezuela, while imperialism continues to increase its violent actions to seize the natural wealth of our country.

“Venezuela is a free, sovereign country that constantly fights for its democracy, it is a country that works to maintain peace, we are lovers of peace. All this military aggression, all this military siege is for nothing other than our natural resources, which they want to steal. We are not going to allow it,” he stressed.

In the same way, he called on the international community to speak out on this dangerous situation. “These US actions not only attack Venezuela, they also attack the region and put global energy stability at risk,” he emphasized.
