Padrino López: The Independence 200 exercises seek to prepare us for possible military aggression

The start of the Independence 200 military exercises, in the states of La Guaira and Carabobo, seeks to prepare our Armed Forces and the Venezuelan people for possible aggression by imperialism, said Defense Minister, G/J Vladimir Padrino López.

“These exercises are aimed at preparing us better every day, putting us 2, 3 steps ahead of the possibility of comprehensive aggression on the part of North American imperialism to maintain the initiative. Whoever, under this circumstance, maintains the initiative will have the victory,” he said in statements made this Wednesday.

In this regard, the senior military official explained that during these maneuvers, 27 territorial actions will be carried out that seek to prevent the country from stopping in the face of an attack. “With these maneuvers, we seek to prevent strategic paralysis, which would seek kinetic aggression against our country,” he stressed.

In the same way, Padrino López stressed the importance of the participation of the people in these maneuvers in order to consolidate strategies for the protection of our territory and sovereignty.

“I don't want to cause alarm among the population, I just want us to see with realism what is happening. The better prepared we are for the situation that is happening, the better things will flow,” he said.
