Padrino López: The intention is not to militarize society but to create national awareness

The Minister of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, denied that Venezuelan society was being militarized, as some stateless sectors that want to see the country destroyed have tried to point out.

“A lot of people there talk about the fact that we are militarizing Venezuelan society. That has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's absurd. Here the intention is not to militarize society. Here the intention is to create national awareness, so that everyone, with their own voice, with their own hands, can contribute to their homeland, to their defense, to their development, to their prosperity,” he said through a video posted on his Instagram account.

In this context, he recalled that our country is threatened by the United States government, which maintains a military deployment in the Caribbean.

“From the military to the unarmed struggle that converges with armed struggle at the time of a war. That is what we are doing, becoming more cohesive every day,” he said.
