The Bolivarian Military University (UMBV) embodies a humanistic, holistic and emancipatory educational project for the training of the men and women of our military institution, said Defense Minister, G/J Vladimir Padrino López.

In a statement, issued this Wednesday in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the founding of this house of studies, Padrino López emphasized that the UMBV is a project that emerged from the genius and brilliance of the Supreme Commander, Hugo Chávez.

Below is the statement:

With the genius and brilliance that distinguishes a visionary, Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez conceived a humanistic, and emancipatory educational model for those with a patriotic military vocation: the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela. This genuine academic project, which is now splendorous at the age of 15, took as its iconic date of creation, the same as the birth of the first military school in the Republic, the current Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army. For this reason, the Alma Mater, forger of blue dreams, is also celebrating its 215th anniversary shining, reaffirming its nationalist, integrationist and anti-imperialist traditions in the 21st century.

From an anthropocentric, scientific, technical and interdisciplinary perspective, the UMBV has adopted a Military Doctrine that embodies the values of love for the Fatherland, justice, the will to fight and national dignity, as transversal axes in the formation of men and women committed to the defense, security and integral development of the nation. By succeeding in uniting all the study centers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces in a single temple of morals and lights, it has become an epistemological guide both for young people who are preparing and training in Military Sciences and Arts, and for professionals from other areas of knowledge; by virtue of which, it represents one of the most powerful thought tanks of the Bolivarian Revolution, capable of confronting unconventional, multiform and diffuse war, which seeks to undermine the country's democracy, sovereignty and peace.

On these two very special anniversaries, I send my most effusive congratulations to the teaching staff, staff officers, cadets, students, administrative staff and workers who, fulfilling their respective roles, preserve and enhance the original legacy of the liberators. I greet the MG with special deference. Omar Enrique Pérez La Rosa and the GB. Crismart Darío Mavo Sánchez, who assertively, with leadership, mysticism and honor, cultivate with the purest teaching, the Bolivarian, Robinsonian and Zamoran principles that guide the consolidation of popular military and police fusion and keep burning the torch of knowledge that illuminates the path of future generations.
