Pedro Infante: The Latin American Union is a current project that will triumph over difficulties

As part of the United with Bicentennial Ties Forum, held during the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress, the first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, called for regional integration as an inalienable flag of the Venezuelan people, anchored in their Magna Carta and strengthened in adversity.

During his speech, Infante emphasized that the union of Latin American peoples “is and remains a current project for Venezuelans,” as enshrined in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. In this regard, he urged us to interpret this ideal from the perspective of current reality, marked by complex challenges.

“This project must be viewed within the current circumstances and difficulties that we face, but with the certainty that our people, those with difficulties, those with fierce history, have the morals, strength and unity necessary to defeat each of these adversities,” said the parliamentarian.

Infante exalted the historical resilience of the South American nation, drawing a parallel with the independence exploits that forged the character of the continent. In his view, the key to overcoming contemporary obstacles lies in popular cohesion and in the memory of historical episodes in which Venezuela has already demonstrated its capacity for resistance.

The participation of the first vice-president of the Venezuelan Legislature takes place in a high-level diplomatic setting, where representatives of various countries discuss the mechanisms to revitalize the dream of the Great Homeland, in the spirit of the original Amphictyonic Congress convened by El Libertador Simón Bolívar.
