The governor of the Portuguese state proudly announced the significant impact achieved on the state's public health network, where the historic figure of 13,000 surgeries was reached.

During their statements, the highest regional authority emphasized that this momentous achievement has been possible thanks to the permanent coordination with the Ministry of People's Power for Health, the deployment of the state program “One Surgery for All” and the tireless social work promoted by the first lady, Ldda. Maria Gabriela Gil.

The regional president highlighted that these interventions cover a wide range of pathologies treated, including gallbladder procedures, pediatric and adult hernias, fistulas, pacemaker placement, sterilization, abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, prolapse cure, cataracts, pterygium, strabismus, and hip replacement surgery.

He also stressed that the surgical days are carried out in fully recovered operating rooms equipped with first-class technology. Among the healthcare centers activated for these days, the Dr. Jesús María Casal Ramos Hospital, the Los Baraure CDI, the Dr. Leonidas Ramos CDI and the Rafael Azuaje Popular Clinic stand out, centers that today guarantee comprehensive and high-quality care.

“We continue to work tirelessly and according to the health of our people, and we are on our way to 15,000 surgical interventions, because guaranteeing the well-being, dignity and life of every Portuguese citizen is our commitment,” concluded the governor.
