President Delcy Rodríguez met with the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago in New York

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a bilateral meeting this Wednesday with the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, in the framework of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UN).
From the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Venezuela to the UN, in New York, United States (USA), both authorities emphasized that the link between Caracas and Port of Spain is marked by deep geopolitical, border and, especially, energy interdependence.
According to a Presidential Press release, both nations share key strategic interests, such as the joint development and exploitation of gas fields, as well as addressing maritime security and managing migratory flows in the Caribbean.
On the Trinidadian side, the meeting was attended by Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign Affairs and CARICOM; Nicholas Morris, minister in the Office of the Prime Minister; Natasha Barrow, permanent secretary and head of the Public Service; Randall Karim, permanent secretary and head of the Foreign Service; and Neil Tadesh Parsan, permanent representative of Trinidad and Tobago at the UN.
The Venezuelan delegation was attended by Calixto Ortega, Sectorial Vice President of Economy; Félix Plasencia, Chancellor of the Republic; Paula Henao, Minister of Hydrocarbons; Oliver Blanco, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Minister for Europe and North America; Carlos Pérez, Deputy Minister for the Caribbean; and Coromoto Godoy, ambassador and permanent representative of Venezuela to the UN.
