The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, appointed Johann Álvarez Márquez as Venezuela's new chargé d'affaires in the United States, with the mission of representing the country's interests and moving forward in a new phase of dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.
“I have decided to appoint Johann Álvarez Márquez as the new Venezuelan Chargé d'Affaires in the United States, with the mission of representing the interests of our country and moving forward in this new phase of dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect,” he said through his Telegram channel.
Rodríguez reaffirmed that the diplomat will have the responsibility to promote a relationship based on mutual respect, international law and understanding between Venezuela and the United States.
He also expressed his confidence in Álvarez to carry out his duties. “I trust his professionalism and I am sure that he will assume this responsibility with a deep commitment to the defense of the interests of the Venezuelan people,” she said.
