From pier 23 of the International Port of La Guaira, the President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez and Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) led the official farewell ceremony and departure of the Simón Bolívar School Ship (BE-11).

Under the direction of Captain Carlos de Suze Santos, the “Ambassador Without Borders” begins the XXXVI Foreign Education Cruise called “Seas of Union for the Dream of Bolivar 2026", with a route that will embrace the coasts of Granada, Dominica, San Cristóbal and Nevis, Mexico and Cuba.

The crew, made up of 216 crew members, has 120 cadets from the Bolivarian Navy and the first to be promoted from the different academies of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela.

According to the Presidential Press, the voyage will last 97 days, with 68 days of sailing and 29 in port, students will travel more than 4,000 nautical miles.

The central objective of this mission is to strengthen technical capacities in nautical arts, survival at sea and navigation, consolidating the comprehensive training of future officials.

Beyond military training, this naval operation functions as an arm of Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, carrying a message of brotherhood, identity and sovereignty to the nations of the Caribbean and Mexico.

In an atmosphere of national pride, accompanied by their families and the Guairian people, the cadets reaffirmed their commitment to wear the national tricolor with courage and mysticism, strengthening ties of regional fraternity and exhibiting Venezuelan kindness in every destination.

The Simón Bolívar School Ship, a brigantry type brig built in 1979, is the flagship of the Venezuelan Navy and has sailed more than 405,000 miles since its launch. With its 23 unfolded sails and the mask of freedom on its bow, the boat symbolizes Venezuela's will to travel free and sovereign seas.
