President (E) Delcy Rodríguez toured El Junquito to evaluate structural rehabilitation after double earthquake

The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, toured the parish of El Junquito, in Caracas, this Wednesday to evaluate the progress made in the structural rehabilitation of the area affected by the double earthquake that occurred last June 24 in the country.

During the tour, the president in charge supervised road reconstruction work at one of the points hardest hit by earthquakes.

Rodríguez was accompanied by Nahum Fernández, head of government of Caracas; Jacqueline Faría, president of the Venezuela Renace Plan; Carmen Meléndez, mayor of the Bolivarian Libertador municipality, among other authorities, who confirmed the fundamental work for what it is in the implementation of the necessary works to completely rehabilitate the area.

The effects in El Junquito include the collapse of homes and businesses, with a total of 280 people affected, 4 people dead and 10 injured, who are being treated in three temporary camps at the Luis Hurtado Educational Unit, the El Junquito Experimental Security University and the El Junquito Popular Power Support Center.

This area is characterized by a busy commercial and tourist activity of 154 locations, of which 112 were unaffected, 37 were seriously damaged and five are inoperative.

Equipment from Plan Venezuela Renace is deployed in the area, carrying out tasks of removing debris and repairing infrastructure, using heavy machinery to carry out expedited work.
