The president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, asserted that “we were not the ones who requested the sanctions and we have not rested in asking for them to be removed.”

This was stated this Monday afternoon, July 13, at the Economy Council together with more than 600 guests, coming from the country's 14 productive engines.

“If you ask businessmen or women entrepreneurs, no one agrees with a sanction or with the economic blockade. An extremist sector that, yes, asks for and promotes it, but we have never rested in asking for the end of the economic blockade against Venezuela,” he said.

He added that “we are at a time when it would be an extraordinary signal to the international community that those who have the possibility of lifting that blockade of Venezuela should do so.”

In that sense, the Head of State in charge pointed out that “I sent a letter to the king of England, because there is the gold of Venezuela and his return was based on the fact that he did not know who governed. Well, in Venezuela we govern and all the aid has been given in coordination with the Venezuelan Government, what else? Here there is a Government, there is a country, there is a State, a people that wants to emerge, to move forward, to overcome the rubble, to recover, to rebuild and we will have a new La Guaira”.
