President (E) Rodríguez awarded Heroes of Venezuela award to rescuers and canine units in La Guaira

The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, led this Saturday the award of the Heroes of Venezuela award to more than 6,000 rescue workers and canine units that participated in the search, rescue and care of the victims of the double earthquake recorded last June 24, especially in the state of La Guaira.

Accompanied by the sectoral vice-president of Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, and the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, the president recognized the work of the security agencies, volunteers and specialized teams that acted during the emergency,

Among the honorees was the rescuer Jorge Beens together with his canine duo Tsunami, recognized for rescuing 16 people alive from the rubble in La Guaira. The binomials Luna, Orión, Cromos, Valkiria, Drago and Conor were also distinguished, belonging to security forces and volunteer groups that participated in the search operations.

The award was awarded to members of the different components of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Civil Protection, Firefighters, the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), the Bolivarian National Police, VEN911, the Venezuelan Red Cross, the National Institute of Land Transportation, Highway Angels , regional and municipal police, among other bodies that integrated the response device.

The Heroes of Venezuela award was created to recognize the performance of the men, women and canine units that participated in rescue and assistance efforts during the emergency caused by the earthquakes, in recognition of their dedication and service to the Venezuelan people.
