The President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, urged the new Minister for Culture, Raúl Cazal, to consolidate industrialization processes for artisans, with the aim of making these pieces known not only in Venezuela, but that they can become export products and ambassadors of peace.
“Let's consolidate the industrialization processes of our artisans so that it can be known, not only in Venezuela, that we can turn the product of our artisans into a product also for export and become ambassadors of peace for Venezuela,” said Rodríguez.
In this regard, he instructed the minister to assign a headquarters to the national handicraft center as well as a vehicle for transporting the material throughout the country.
In relation to the National Center for Crafts, he pointed out that this creation is with the objective of dignifying and projecting the work of Venezuelan creators; reiterating in historical context, that Venezuelans, throughout history, have demonstrated that “we are a homeland of peace, a people of peace, that we carry that message from our father the liberator Simon Bolivar to other horizons.”
Rodríguez highlighted that the country has UNESCO awards in cultural expressions declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity, such as the joropo. He called on the country's cultural movement to join as one voice in all spaces and to industrialize with a view to the export of artisanal products.
This activity was held on March 19, National Day of Craftsmen and Craftswomen, as part of the recognition of Venezuelan artists who reflect in each process the most tangible manifestation of Venezuelan identity and ancestral knowledge.
