The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, spoke this Wednesday, March 11, on the announcement by the United States to recognize the legitimate Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and reported that it is a recognition of a country that has the right to recover and normalize its political, economic and social life.

“I thank you, because today the news is that the Government of Venezuela has been given legal recognition. This is not the recognition of a person or a Government, it is the recognition of a country and that that country can recover its life, can breathe in terms of services, in terms of health, education,” he said in statements in an audiovisual material, published by the Miraflores Al Momento portal.

“That for me is the important thing, that it can bring about this whole process of reorganization and I say of normalization, that Venezuela lives a process because it is its right, Venezuela deserves it,” he reiterated.

President Rodríguez announced that talks with the United States are continuing within bilateral diplomatic relations, and every day the different points of view of both sovereign governments are being expressed.

He also thanked that, as part of this diplomatic effort, Venezuela can have trade relations without pressure, and just as the United States buys Venezuelan oil and gold, Venezuela has been able to purchase medicines, equipment and supplies that facilitate strengthening the health system.

“So we listen to that recognition with humility, with modesty as a country so that we can continue to advance in national union,” he urged.

He also confirmed that this call for national union is not a partisan issue or a particular political sector issue. “The campaign must be a campaign for Venezuela, for Venezuela's health, political health, economic health, social health, and here all organizations will have a place,” he said.
