President-in-Charge heads strategic meeting with IMF delegation

The president in charge Delcy Rodríguez met this Wednesday with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to continue the constructive dialogue established in recent months.

The conversations focus on the exchange of views on macroeconomic prospects, economic policy priorities, areas of technical assistance aimed at strengthening institutional capacities and the use of international reserves to finance Plan Venezuela Renace.

Attending this meeting, on behalf of the IMF, are the Director of the Western Hemisphere Department, Nigel Chalk; the Assistant Director of the Department of the Western Hemisphere and Head of Mission for Venezuela, Álvaro Piris; and the Deputy Chief of Mission for Venezuela, Juan Yépez Albornoz.

Among the Venezuelan authorities participating in the meeting are the Sectorial Administrative and Digital Government Vice President and Minister of the People's Power of Economy and Finance, Anabel Pereira Fernández; the Sectorial Vice President of Economy, Calixto Ortega; the President of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), Luis Pérez; and the Deputy Minister of Finance and Vice President of Finance of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), Christian Hernandez.

During the visit, the IMF delegation will hold meetings with senior officials from the economic team and other competent public institutions. This mission reflects the progressive normalization of the relationship between Venezuela and the International Monetary Fund and is part of a broader process of engagement with the international financial community.
