In the framework of the National Physician's Day, the President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, presented the balance of the plan for health and life 2026 where she positively evaluated the measures taken by the national government in the face of the Yellow Fever outbreak in the region, specifically in Brazil, in Colombia, and which has impacted Venezuela.

“We activate the entire health system to care through the vaccination process to treat Yellow Fever in Venezuela, it is a call in states where immediate deployment has been given through 22 parishes where there has been an incidence that we can treat those people who have never been vaccinated between one year and 59 years so that we can attend to this vaccination process against Yellow Fever,” he said during a television broadcast in the state of Aragua where they carried out a theoretical and practical epidemiological workshop on yellow fever”, highlighted the president in charge.

TIMELY VACCINATION

As part of a special health deployment, the Single Health Authority of Aragua, Dr. Yosmari Lombano, reported that more than 20,000 doses of vaccines against yellow fever have been applied in the regional territory.

The approach focuses on five prioritized municipalities: Camatagua, San Casimiro, San Sebastián, Libertador and Zamora, where technical teams carry out daily immunization, abatement and fumigation days in the morning and afternoon.

The deployment has the support of the State Government and follows the preventive guidelines of the National Executive to face the regional health situation.

Dr. Lombano noted that the staff remains in constant preparation to attend to any clinical news, working directly in the field to ensure vector containment and the protection of the inhabitants of the municipalities addressed.

THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL WORKSHOP

In this regard, he announced the launch of a theoretical-practical workshop on the clinical management of yellow fever, designed to train 41,000 students from the University of Health Sciences (UCS).

The rector of the institution, Carlos Alvarado, explained that the training is provided through a virtual platform and includes modules on immunization, elimination of breeding sites and fieldwork, with the objective of certifying students for a mass approach to this disease.

This academic initiative emerges as an urgent response to the outbreak in the Americas and is directly linked to students' professional practice.

The program ensures that, after approving the virtual evaluation and vaccination practices, future doctors are incorporated into house-to-house prevention efforts, reinforcing the integration of the public health system with the needs of communities.
