This Saturday, February 14, the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stressed that the best thing about Venezuelans is that “we are the comeback of the century, that there is no adversity, no difficulty that we cannot overcome”, referring to the victory of the baseball team Los Navegantes del Magallanes, as Champions of the 2026 Americas Series.

“Welcome to the Miraflores Palace to our Champions. I want to congratulate you from the bottom of my heart, because you did what is called: the comeback of the century,” he said at the Simon Bolivar Hall in the Miraflores Palace, where he hosted the 2026 Americas Series Champion team.

He said that “you are demonstrating the Venezuela that we want to build, that you put on the Venezuelan shirt, without distinction.”

“I know they are Los Navigantes del Magallanes and as such I congratulated them, but we also congratulate them for representing Venezuela worthily. We are all proud of you, the Venezuelan people, you know, are baseball lovers,” he said.

He said that “you give us courage and impetus not to stop. Personally, you made me cry with joy, of seeing a country that rises up, advances and is never defeated.”

The president in charge also congratulated the teams from Colombia, which came in second place, and Cuba, in third place, “there is no difficulty stopping our peoples of Latin America.”

He also thanked the related authorities that thanks to the efforts it was possible to hold the aforementioned event in Venezuela and supported the request to be able to hold the Americas Series again in the country, in 2027 and for the Major League to be extended to four months.

“They told me about the lighting for the Los Magallanes Stadium. Minister Márquez already tells me that he has them. This week they will place them,” he said.
