The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated this Thursday the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Cuba-Venezuela Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement, signed by Commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez.

“That day, under the guardianship of Bolívar and Martí, the fundamental step for the deep, spiritual, cultural and political union of our peoples took place,” said the Venezuelan Head of State through his Telegram channel.

He stressed that the agreement represents the brotherhood between the two countries and “reflects our decision to be free, rebelliously sovereign, above any obstacle, threat or imperialist aggression. We have demonstrated to the world that solidarity, cooperation and complementarity are the key to relationships between nations,” he stressed.

He stressed that Venezuela and Cuba confirm that “we can move forward together, putting human dignity at the center, bringing health, education and development to our peoples,” while imperialism promotes wars and division.

“We are more united than ever, striving to defend our sovereignty and peace. We send a greeting of brotherhood and respect to the heroic Cuban people, to Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, to President Miguel Díaz-Canel and to the entire Directorate of the Revolution. Their resilience is our inspiration. Long live the union of Cuba and Venezuela: one flag and one destination!” , he exclaimed.
