President Maduro exalted Commander Fidel Castro's legacy 9 years after his planting

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, praised the revolutionary legacy of Cuban leader Comandante Fidel Castro this Tuesday, nine years after his passage to immortality, as the Giant of America.

Through his Telegram channel, the head of state emphasized that his “work changed the history not only of Cuba, but also of Latin America and the Caribbean.” He said that “Fidel forged the era of new independence and revolution, demonstrating the strength and validity that only great leaders have. His light, together with that of Commander Chávez, is today guiding the struggles of the peoples of the world.”

The Venezuelan president noted that the Cuban leader “bequeathed us a fundamental concept: the ability to turn adversities into struggle and victory, and transform victories into opportunities for advancement. Despite countless smear campaigns and attempts to harm him physically and morally, his indomitable spirit prevailed.”

“Nine years after his planting, Fidel's idea of humanity and indestructible purpose live on and are present in every action we take. We vindicate their loyalty and example to form the new rebel, independent and revolutionary generations. With Fidel in our hearts, we continue from battle to battle, moving towards victory,” he added.
