President Maduro honors the legacy of teacher José Antonio Abreu (+birthday)

This Wednesday, the President of the Republic,
Nicolás Maduro Moros, highlighted the legacy of the teacher José Antonio Abreu,
in order to commemorate the 86th anniversary of his birth.
Through his account on the social network Telegram,
the national president assured that Abreu was one “of the most recognized men in the world that we
have ever had (...) the teacher who achieved a true musical and cultural revolution”.
He also said that
the teacher “combined creativity, nationalism and love for Simon
Bolivar; undoubtedly, of the people who knew the history of our
independence the most and the thought, ethics and morals of our Liberator.”
Finally, he reiterated his
commitment to strengthening the Venezuelan National System of Youth
Orchestras and Choirs and specified that “Maestro Abreu left us a
wonderful, gigantic legacy, a work that is in the neighborhoods of Venezuela, in every
boy, girl and young woman who is transforming their lives through music.”
José Antonio Abreu was a musician, composer and
teacher of several generations of Venezuelan musicians. He was born on May 7,
1939, in the city of Valera, Trujillo state.
