The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, paid tribute this Wednesday to the revolutionary leader Ali Rodríguez Araque, seven years after his planting.
“We remember a special Venezuelan, whose life was a consistent testimony of values and patriotic pride, who became the sublime example of the revolutionary militant, of a being of unwavering commitment, absolute honesty and great courage,” said the Head of State through his Telegram channel.
He stressed that Rodríguez Araque was “a man of the vanguard who never retired, always had a word of encouragement and a strategic orientation for battles.”
In addition, he praised the revolutionary leader as “one of the greatest experts on the subject of oil in history. In his years of struggle, with a rifle in one hand and a bundle of books in the other, he thoroughly investigated rentier domination and surrendering, building what would later become the sovereign oil thinking of the Bolivarian Revolution.”
He recalled that Commander Hugo Chávez called him the “Fire Extinguisher”, by virtue of “his great management capacity and humility to carry out leadership. He was a one-faced man, loyal and sincere, in whom I found advice and firmness,” he added.
“We will always remember the commander of the 60s, the great manager who deeply loved Venezuela. His spirit, his ethics and his drive are still alive. Here we are still at the forefront, fighting, with his example, his symbol and his truth. Mission accomplished! Honor and eternal glory to Comrade Ali Rodríguez Araque!” , he stressed.
