President Maduro praises independence hero Ambrosio Plaza 232 years after his birth

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated this Thursday the 232nd anniversary of the birth of the general and hero of independence Ambrosio Plaza.
Through his account on the social network X, the head of state recalled Plaza as an “illustrious officer of the Patriot Army, who, due to his courage, stood out as a leader and fighter in different military actions during the independence process”.
Plaza was born in Caracas on December 7, 1791, and served as colonel in the Venezuelan Army, to fight alongside the patriots from the early stages of the independence movement.
This patriot from Caracas fought for the independence of New Granada and reached the rank of brigadier general at the time of his death. He also accompanied Francisco de Miranda in different campaigns during the first Republic in which he joined the Admirable Campaign under the orders of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.
