Public Safety and Risk Management Agencies deployed on the Gran Cacique Guaicaipura Highway

The Mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, reported that Public Security and Risk Management agencies were deployed on the Gran Cacique Guaicaipura Highway, in order to address the contingency generated by the heavy rainfall recorded in the capital city in the last few hours.

Through a report made by Venezolana de Televisión, Meléndez specified that the crews and machinery of the Ministry of Public Works are carrying out work to clear and clean mud in the said road artery to restore vehicle traffic.

He also stressed that cranes have been made available to public and private security agencies. “The cars that were affected are already being cleared, so far we have no victims to regret, all of them on the highway have been helped and taken to a safe place,” he emphasized.

The Mayor also reported that there was a fire in El Valle, five trees fell and power lines fell. In this regard, he asserted that together with CORPOELEC they are working to restore light in sectors that do not exist.

“This is a great action by all the teams of the National, Regional and Local Government, all working together and well articulated with the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, the Strategic Integral Defense Region (REDI), the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone in Venezuela (ZODI), all in direct communication with our president Delcy Rodríguez Rodríguez,” he added.

Meléndez called on people to stay calm and if they don't need to, don't go out.

He reiterated that in the face of any emergency, the Command Posts are active 24 hours a day, 0800 Caracas, also in Ven 911 and 1 X 10 of Good Government.
