Boxers Irismar Cardozo and Maryelis Yriza bathed in gold at the Santa Fe 2026 South American Games, to win the fourth gold medal for Venezuela in women's boxing.
Cardozo won the gold medal in the 51 kg category after winning a demanding and close fight against Colombia's Yerlin Quiñones 4-1.
In the semifinals La Criolla beat Panamanian Asprilla Yuliett 4-1.
For her part, in the 75 kg division, Yriza dominated the Argentine representative Lorena Balbuena, establishing herself at the top of the South American podium.
In the semifinals, he did the same against Uruguay's Ailen Cabrera 5-0.
