Through a humanitarian bridge it supports with Venezuela, the State of Qatar has provided, in three weeks, more than 100 tons of aid to care for people affected by the two earthquakes that occurred on June 24.

On this solidarity route, this Thursday, a shipment containing almost 10 tons of supplies and materials, including mattresses and blankets, arrived at the “Simón Bolívar” International Airport, in the state of La Guaira —the hardest hit by the earthquakes—, containing almost 10 tons of supplies and materials, including mattresses and blankets, for shelter equipment.

As part of the aid provided by Qatar, Venezuela received a field hospital at the end of June, which operates at the National Experimental Security University (UNES), in Catia, Caracas, and has the capacity to treat more than 300 people per day. On that same flight, medical equipment and supplies arrived, as well as rescuers who came to the country from the first moment of the emergency.

In the first days of July, the Qatari Government sent two flights with nearly 30 tons of humanitarian aid each; one shipment containing 18 tons of non-perishable food, drinking water and medicines; and another two with more than 10,000 kilos of supplies and materials, in addition to the cargo received this Thursday.
